Car repairs in Cardiff: how Bumps’ free collection and delivery works

    Bumps Accident Repair Centre · 7 October 2026 · 4 min read

A practical guide to arranging a Cardiff body repair without driving to the workshop, from sending damage photos to receiving your repaired car.

    Vehicle body repair and paintwork

Getting a damaged car to a workshop can be awkward, especially when you need it for work or family journeys. Bumps Accident Repair Centre provides free collection and delivery for Cardiff drivers. Repairs take place at Bumps’ workshop in Llandarcy, rather than at a Cardiff workshop.

Start with your postcode and damage photos

Tell Bumps where the vehicle is, its registration, make and model, and how the damage happened. Include an overall photograph of the car, a wider view of each damaged panel and close-ups taken in good light. Mention warning lights, fluid leaks, a wheel that looks out of position or anything preventing the doors from closing.

A photograph helps start an estimate, but it cannot reveal every damaged component. Bumps may need to inspect the vehicle before confirming the repair scope. Do not drive a car you suspect is unsafe simply to obtain a quote.

    Agree collection before making plans

Collection and delivery are free. Give the team your CF postcode and agree the collection address, access arrangements and a suitable time. Explain whether the car starts and moves, and whether it is parked in a restricted space. A non-driveable vehicle may need different transport arrangements, which should be agreed with the team.

What to check before handing over the keys

    • Remove valuables and anything you will need while the car is away.
    • Keep a record of the vehicle’s condition and mileage.
    • Have the keys ready and tell the team about alarms or unusual starting procedures.
    • If claiming on insurance, provide the claim reference and insurer details.
    • Ask about courtesy-car arrangements, including availability, eligibility and any insurance requirements.

While your car is at Bumps

Ask who will contact you about the estimate and how additional damage will be handled. Before extra work is authorised, make sure you understand the revised scope and any cost you are responsible for. Agree the expected completion date with the team rather than relying on a general repair timescale.

    Delivery back to Cardiff

Bumps delivers the repaired vehicle back free of charge. Arrange a convenient handover and take time to inspect the repair. Ask for the repair paperwork and clarification of any aftercare instructions or guarantee that applies to your work.

    Is there a collection charge?

No. Bumps provides free collection and delivery for Cardiff repairs. Repair costs are quoted separately. On eligible insurance repairs Bumps can contribute up to £500 towards the excess; ask the team to confirm how this applies to your claim.

Visit Bumps’ Cardiff car repair page or call 01792 816611 to arrange an estimate and discuss collection.

Your Cardiff repair starts with Bumps.

Send your photos, vehicle details and CF postcode. Bumps offers free collection and delivery, with repairs at Edwards Works, Llandarcy, Neath, SA10 6JY, not a separate Cardiff workshop.
