Town centre kerbs and multi storey car parks are hard on wheels. Here is how each finish is repaired and what to expect.
Three common wheel finishes\n\nPainted or powder coated. The most common. Damage is filled, primed, colour matched and lacquered.\n\nDiamond cut. The face is machined on a lathe to expose bright metal under lacquer. It can only be recut a limited number of times before the face becomes too thin.\n\nPolished or chrome effect. Trickier and often better replaced when badly damaged.\n\n### The repair process\nWheel off, tyre deflated or removed, damage assessed for cracks or buckling, surface prepared, refinished and lacquered, then balanced and refitted with correct torque.\n\n### Safety first\nWe do not refinish cracked or badly buckled wheels. A cosmetic fix on a structurally damaged wheel is dangerous, and we will tell you straight if that is what we find.\n\n### Turnaround\nMost sets are back with you within a day or two, and single wheels are often same day.\n\nCall 07759 275968 or drop into Cranes Close for a look.
